Strategic Planning, Policy Development, & Implementation

I have experience in all areas of strategic planning, primarily at a governmental level, but I can also assist non-profits and businesses. This includes the SWOT Analysis, to leadership development and interviews, goal setting, plan writing and adoption, and finally implementation. Strategic planning is also not about writing the plan and letting it sit on a shelf, you must have a plan for not only implementation, but also for follow-up, evaluation, and re-tooling as needed.  I also believe that you must connect your strategic plan to your other planning efforts, the budget, and your day-to-day operations, as without that vital connection, you might as well leave the plan on the shelf.

 

Strategy development also includes having a plan as to how you are going to implement a change or improve on a regular practice.  It includes being able to analyze the current situation and to effectuate a change. The outside perspective helps and this is something that I can easily do.

Governmental Relations & Management

Government is a great deal more than politics.  Politics is a part of it, but the day-to-day management of government (primarily, municipal, county, and state) takes many forms and experiences its own difficulties along many fronts. If you are experiencing any difficulties – from trying to understand the motivation and purpose behind what your government is trying to do, how you are impacted or can be more impactful, and how you can affect positive changes, DPD Solutions is there for you.

It could be as simple as a phone call and some research on my part, to helping you understand and participate in the process more fully. I can also serve as a go-between, your interpreter, your mouthpiece, and cheerleader – all based on your needs.

 

I can also help you formulate and implement a strategy to improve your relationship and communication with the government to further your long-term goals or to make a change in the government's actions or positions.

Process Improvement & Overall Change Management

Have you or are you part of an organization whose employee’s regularly say: “We have always done it that way?” What about the scenario where the person that promoted out of the position is expected to train their replacement, as that’s how it is done? If you are experiencing either of these scenarios, it is not good, and I can help. 

 

Written standard operating procedures are required for all businesses and governments. Also, the evaluation of how you do things and why they are done is not easy for most people to undertake and address. Further, a new way of doing things is frustrating for many people, as it involves change. You are not alone, and better days are ahead when using my services.

Leadership, Coaching, and Teambuilding

My focus is on new leaders and managers that may not understand their new role or are struggling with the transition. I can help. 

 

Also, what about the team that can’t just move forward in the direction you need, or you don’t understand why they aren’t moving forward? What about colleagues, both great employees, but represent fire and gasoline when put together. All scenarios that I have seen and that need someone to step in to help, or to guide a leader through the process to help others.  This can range from a specific review of the scenario, issue identification, one-on-one coaching, or specific training programs and team building efforts.
